Gettysburg native Kayla Repasky, who was Miss Greater Carlisle, was crowned Miss Pennsylvania 2018 at the conclusion of the pageant Saturday night. She will represent the Keystone State at the 2019 Miss America Competition in September. Repasky was crowned by Palmyra native and Penn State Blue Band member Katie Schreckengast.
Repasky is a senior at the University of Alabama, studying nursing. Her pageant platform is Think First America, her nonprofit organization. Repasky works to created education programs on using technology responsibly and fighting cyber-bullying, according to her biography on ThinkFirstAmerica.com. Her hobbies include spending time with friends and family, traveling and being outdoors. She also is an advocate for Children’s Miracle Network and STEM Education.
Repasky danced for 10 years with the Hanover Children’s Ballet Theatre and Company and began competing in MAO pageants at 17 years old.
