Miss UNLV, Alexis Hilts, was crowned Miss Nevada 2018 at the conclusion of the pageant held Sunday night at the Westgate Las Vegas. She was the last of the 51 Miss America 2019 contenders to be crowned. Hilts will travel to Atlantic City in September to compete at the national finals.
The rest of the top 5 include Macie Tuell (1st Runner Up), Nasya Mancini (2nd Runner Up), Briana Lowe (3rd Runner Up) and Lauren Pellegrino (4th Runner Up).
As a Las Vegas native, Alexis grew up with a passion for science. In high school, Alexis stayed busy holding numerous leadership and mentorship positions including Spanish Club President, Student Body Vice President, and Varisty Cheerleading Captain. At 13, Alexis was name Nevada’s Outstanding Teen and toured the state mentoring girls and encouraging them to become involved in their community through the National Charity League. Alexis was also named Nevada’s Distinguished Young Woman and got to experience Southern Hospitality while earning scholarship money in Mobile, Alabama. Currently Alexis is double majoring in Biochemistry and Political Science with a minor in Spanish at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, with the goal of becoming a plastic surgeon.
