Grainne Gallanagh was crowned Miss Universe Ireland 2018 at the conclusion of the pageant held Thursday evening at The Round Room of the Mansion House in Dublin. Gallanagh will compete at this year’s Miss Universe Pageant to be held in Thailand in December.
She was crowned by her predecessor, Cailin Tobin, who placed in the top 16 in last year’s Miss Universe competition.
Gallanagh is nurse and hails from Donegal. She is no stranger to beauty pageants, having previously been crowned Miss Donegal 2016, and she was also a Miss Earth NI runner-up. As a nurse, she has progressed from emergency nursing to working in a women’s health clinic. She has been raising awareness about women’s health during her Miss Universe Ireland journey, and has raised funds for her local women’s centre in Donegal.
The beauty walked away with over €40,000 in prizes.
